Only the shape goes.
“Listen” is the same bundle of relations, thrown to the ear instead of the eye.
No sound was added; the same equation is put out through another sense.
The hairs along the rim sway, each one later than the last.
The body itself changes its posture as it goes.
A wave is not being sent through a fixed shape.
The way the body bends is different every time.
So the same figure never appears twice — until it comes round.
The hairs do not stand straight out.
They curve back a little.
Straight, they read as bristles. Curved, they read as soft.
