Only the shape goes.
“Listen” is the same bundle of relations, thrown to the ear instead of the eye.
No sound was added; the same equation is put out through another sense.
A wave crosses the wing, from root to tip.
The further out, the later.
The very edge is the latest, and swings widest.
Front and back are not moving separately.
One wave is passing through.
One beat takes close to seven seconds.
In that time the body hardly advances.
What advances is a slower current, one that takes twenty seconds to come round.
The tail does not beat.
It only follows the body's motion, a little late.
Stop it and the wing is only a surface.
It is a creature only while the wave is crossing.
